Obituary: John C. Hazard, Jr., 20

John C. Hazard, Jr., 20, of North Kingstown, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, at Newport Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of John C. Hazard, Sr., of North Kingstown and the late Diane C. (Pummer) Neville. He was the beloved grandson of Lester W. Hazard and Alta J. Hazard of North Kingstown. 

John attended Apponaug Christian Academy and North Kingstown High School. He loved attending church services and studying his bible. John earned his black belt at Steve Babcock’s Karate. 

Besides his father and grandparents, he leaves his brother, Jesse J. Hazard of North Kingstown. He was the loving nephew of William B. Hazard and his wife Sharon of Fla., Walter R. Hazard and his wife Karen of Denver, Colo., Lester W. Hazard, Jr., of Peace Dale, Christopher Pummer and his wife Elaine of Orinda, Calif., Julie Ohl of Hacksensack, N.J., Suzanne Reilly and her husband Kevin of Maywood, N.J., and Joanne Ryan and her husband Timothy of Maywood, N.J.

His Funeral Service will be held Friday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. in Stony Lane Baptist Church, 921 Old Baptist Road, North Kingstown. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Stony Lane Baptist Church. Kindly omit flowers. Gifts in his memory to Stony Lane Baptist Church will be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford. For online messages of condolences, kindly visit www.CranstonMurphy.com.
