Obituary: Norman A. Rose, 68

Devoted husband and father of two passed away on May 18.

Norman A. "Skip" Rose, 68, of Wickford, died peacefully at home, due to complications of diabetes, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Crooks) Rose. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of Barbara F. (Eccleston) Rose of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Norman L. Rose (Chief NKFD).

Skip worked as a Machinist for Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company and as an Auto Mechanic for Quonset Auto Body. He was a longtime member of Rolling Greens Golf Course and a Communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford. 

Besides his wife, he leaves his two devoted children: Norman C. "Skip" Rose and his wife Karen of Johnston, and Patricia L. Moore and her husband Eric of Attleboro, MA. Cherished grandfather of Kristen E. Salazar, Corey J. Rose, both of Los Lunas, NM, Aidan P. Moran and Molly R. Moore, both of Attleboro, and great-grandfather of Riley Salazar and Logan Salazar of Los Lunas, NM. He was the brother of Bette-Jane Bonin of Florida and Lawrence K. Rose of North Kingstown. 

His Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, PO Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727 will be appreciated.
