8:14 a.m. – A state official called police to report damage to the shoulder of Davisville after a truck ran off the road onto the shoulder and got stuck in the fresh loam there. The driver told police an oncoming car forced him from the road.
12:39 p.m. – The principal of Stony Lane Elementary told police the physical education teacher found a spent firearm round on the asphalt near the basketball court. A search of the area yielded nothing else.
1:06 p.m. – A Lenox Circle resident told police she thought someone was entering her apartment while she wasn’t home. She said she first noticed small things moved around about two months ago, but today she came home today and noticed a paring knife balanced on a pair of scissors on a table in her living room. She said she was sure the knife had been in the kitchen and the scissors on a shelf.
4:49 p.m. – Police went to the Kingstown Motel on Post Road after getting a report of a person lying on the ground in the parking lot. When police arrived, NK Fire was talking to a woman who said she’d come to the motel to visit a friend staying there and that while she was there she’d had a few drinks. She had gone outside because she wanted to warm up in the sun and decided to lie down on the asphalt and take a nap. She said she didn’t want to go to the hospital. Her roommate came to pick her up.
8:37 p.m. – The owner of Chicago Pizza told police he’d received three fake orders, totalling $68.85 in food. He gave police the name identified with the calls and police tracked it down to an address nearby one of the fake addresses given. A 14-year-old at the residence admitted making the calls. Police spoke with the child’s mother and the owner. The owner said he’d work things out with the parents directly.
9:19 p.m. – Police arrested Miguel Andrew Merced, Jr., 31, of Fourth Avenue, Taftville, Calif., for driving with a suspended license, after police saw him allegedly speeding on Stony Lane. Routine checks turned up the license violation. His car was towed from the scene and he was processed at the station and released with a court summons.
