Yogurt Shop Coming To Quonset Gateway

Froyo is coming to North Kingstown. Fresh Wave frozen yogurt plans to open its first shop in Rhode Island next to the Verizon store at the Shops at Quonset, New Boston Group recently announced.

The local owner – Fresh Wave is a franchise business – is renting a 1,285 foot space and hopes to be open by May 1, said Gary Hofstetter of New Boston, developer of Quonset Gateway.

That leaves a little more than 5,000 square feet of space in that line (which includes Dave’s Market and Home Goods) still unoccupied, he said. There are also construction-ready “pads” still available and Hofstetter reiterated New Boston was hoping to get a chain restuarant to take one of those.

Potential restaurant tenants who might prefer Post Road frontage are not able to lease property directly on Quonset Gateway Post Road frontage because that area is zoned for office space, he noted.
