North Smithfield Man Obtained More than $10K Under False Pretenses: Cops

The North Smithfield man also accessed a computer for fraudulent purposes, police said.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — A North Smithfield man was charged with obtaining more than $10,000 under false pretenses and accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes, police said.

Joshua Campbell, 42, was arrested Thursday by the Rhode Island State Police Financial Crimes Unit, the state police said in a media release.

Campbell surrendered at the State Police Headquarters, according to the release.

He was processed, arraigned and released. on his own recognizance, police said.
