PORTSMOUTH, RI — Police and fire officials have closed Lilac Lane and Benjamin Drive in Portsmouth due to a natural gas leak.

Police said residents in the area are safe, and there is no cause for concern. But traffic will be restricted while repairs are made.

Police said repairs are expected to take three-to-four hours. Seek alternative routes.
