Clements' Market Buys Part of Family-Owned Westport Store

Clements' Market in Portsmouth has purchased Lees' Market in Westport, MA.

Clements' Market operator Tracy Anthony has purchased the grocery section of Lees' Market in Westport, MA, reports The Portsmouth Times

Lees' Market, owned by the Lees' family for three generations, will continue to operate under its current name. Anthony purchased the grocery business for an unknown price, while Lees will continue to own the building, land and attached liquor store. 

Anthony, the daughter of Clements' market founders Don and Barbara Clements, will remain manager of the Portsmouth store. 

The business deals has ties that go way back, according to The Portsmouth Times. Don Clements was once general manager for Lees' Market. 

Clements' Marketplace is a family-run business in Portsmouth that was established in 1980. This large hometown grocer on East Main Road has everything from an in-store cafe to a delivery service. 

Clements' Market stocks a huge variety of grocery, health, beauty and general household products. It also offers catering and flower arrangements.
