Elizabeth Lois McCulley, Federal Government Worker, Dies at 69

Elizabeth Lois McCulley spent years working in various government departments in Washington DC before she retired to move back to her native Aquidneck Island.

Elizabeth Lois McCulley, 69, of Portsmouth, died Friday, June 14, 2013.

Born in Newport on October 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank G. McCulley and Ann D. (Teves) McCulley.

Ms. McCulley was a 1962 graduate of Rogers High School. She worked for many different departments and agencies for the Federal Government in Washington DC, lastly for the Department of Education. In addition, she worked for members in the House of Representatives as well as the Senate, and the Watergate and National Republican Committees. She was a member of Jesus Savior Church, and the AARP and loved to watch tennis. Upon her retirement she was very happy to move back to Rhode Island, which she always considered her home, especially Newport.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m., in the Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport.

A private burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
