Fiery Crash In Portsmouth Hospitalizes 3 People

One of the cars was on fire when Portsmouth first responders arrived at the scene of the crash, fire officials said.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Three people were taken to the hospital Saturday following a two-car crash in Portsmouth, according to town fire officials.

Fire officials said they received a 911 call around 7:51 p.m. for the crash in the Burma Road area. According to fire officials, one of the vehicles was on fire when first responders arrived.

Along with Portsmouth police and fire, first responders from Middletown and a U.S. Navy Fire Rescue crew helped at the scene.

Fire officials said both vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damage.

The severity of the victims' injuries are not known as of Sunday afternoon.
