Bruschi, the family pet, went missing Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. near Boyd's Lane and Bristol Ferry Road. He apparently escaped when he was let out by a sitter. The family had just left for vacation.

The Golden Retriever's absence resulted in a social media campaign to help find him. Many residents posted on Facebook to help find him. Just one post on Portsmouth Patch's Facebook page resulted in more than 110 shares.

The dog's absence also resulted in many residents searching (some by flashlight) Portsmouth neighborhoods. Early reports say the dog was found near Willow Lane by a visiting search team.

Lineberger sends his appreciation to everyone who helped in the search.

I wanna thank everyone who helped look for him for. My family and I greatly appreciate it.
