Harrisville Man Accused Of Sexually Soliciting A Portsmouth Teen
Police say Michael Collins, 56, of Harrisville, had been soliciting inappropriate contact with a Portsmouth teen.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — A Harrisville man was arrested Monday after Portsmouth police said he tried to sexually solicit a 14-year-old.
Michael Collins, 56, was charged with indecent solicitation of a minor. He was arraigned in Second Division District Court and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance.
Just before 6:33 a.m., Collins was taken into custody at his home. According to police, Collins had been soliciting inappropriate contact with a Portsmouth teen. Police said they collected evidence, including online messages between Collins and the victim.

As conditions of his bail, Collins is prohibited from having contact with minors and from using the internet, smartphones, or computers.
