Here's Why Trot Is A Portsmouth Star Student
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts, or volunteer service. Here's one who is having an impact in Portsmouth.

PORTSMOUTH — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Nikki Chrupcala who nominated her son Trot of Portsmouth.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Trot is a model student-athlete at Hathaway Elementary School with close to 50 golden apples earned already this year. He enjoys attending his weekly CubScouts meetings at St. Barnabas Church with Pack #1 in Portsmouth where he learns about being the best version of himself everywhere he goes. His PYB basketball team is in first place headed into the playoffs next week! Trot is always willing to help a friend and try something new. He is also signed up to become a Portsmouth Pirate this spring and try his cleats out on the soccer fields!
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Trot’s favorite animal is a penguin, so it makes sense that everyday is Earth Day to Trot. He is always picking up litter at the local beaches and reminding family and friends to reduce, reuse and recycle. Trot aspires to open and cook in his own restaurant, which will be named “Shark Bites”. He already has the details planned. His menu will be diverse, and have a Vegan-Friendly section titled “Fish are Friends, not Food”. When he takes time away from the restaurant, he will spend most of his money to explore and help save penguins in Antarctica and other parts of the world.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future,Trot Sylvia!
