Kenneth Norman Heywood, Active Portsmouth Athlete and Father, Dies at 57
Kenneth N. Haywood, a Portsmouth musician, sports enthusiast and family man, died on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. He was 57.

Kenneth Norman Heywood, 57, of Portsmouth, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, surrounded by his family at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.
He was the husband of Sandra Lynn (Simas) Heywood.
Born in Fall River, MA, on March 6, 1956, he was the son of the late Milton J. and Georgette A. (Blaise) Heywood.
Heywood was the Data Processing Vice President for Citizen’s Bank. He was an avid golfer at Green Valley Country Club, taught tennis, coached basketball and loved fishing. Mr. Heywood was a fan of the Portsmouth High School Football team, loved to play guitar and sing. His most loved passion was listening to Christian music and studying the word of God. His happiest place on earth was the traditional family, cherished vacations to Walt Disney World.
Besides his wife of 22 years, he is survived by his children, his siblings, and his four grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. He was buried in Trinity Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
