Portsmouth Police Looking For Stolen AK-47
The gun was reported missing on March 6 but may have been taken earlier, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives.

PORTSMOUTH, RI —Police are asking for the public's help finding an AK-47 rifle with the name "Sasha" engraved on the grip. According to Det. Lt. Michael C. Arnold, the semi-automatic weapon and nine empty magazines were stolen from a home on North Drive. The theft was reported on Tuesday, but the owner believes the rifle could have been stolen sometime in the past two months.
"The rifle is also described as a Kalashnikov model 47 with a bluing upper and lower receiver, wood fore grip and black plastic pistol grip; the rifle also has a side folded metal rear butt stock," Arnold said. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 401-683-0994 or the station st 401-683-0300.
