Portsmouth School Committee Appoints New Finance Director

The Portsmouth School Committee voted Tuesday night to appoint a new Director of Finance and Administration.

The following is from a press release from the Portsmouth School District. 

The Portsmouth School Committee approved the hiring of Christopher DiIuro to the position of Director of Finance and Administration.

The vote took place Tuesday night at the school committee meeting.

Chris is a finance and accounting executive with 20 years of experience. He is a graduate of the Boston College Carroll School of Management, where he earned degrees in both finance and accounting.

"I am absolutely thrilled we were able to attract Chris to Portsmouth. His tenure here will be transformational, said David Croston, committee chairman. "Chris stood out to the sub-committee in all facets: accounting, personnel, and operations. Portsmouth is very lucky to get someone with such great character, knowledge and integrity."

Prior to joining the Portsmouth School Department, Chris worked in public accounting for Ernest & Young LLC and, most recently, was vice president finance and retail controller for CVS Caremark. 

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants.  

Chris lives in East Greenwich with his wife and his two children.
