Portsmouth's National Night Out is Aug. 2

The event at Sandy Point Beach brings together police and residents for fun and community building. Plus, a screening of "Zootopia."

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Portsmouth's National Night Out is set for Aug. 2, bringing together members of the police department and local families and civic groups to have fun and build connections.

It won't be hard to convince the kiddos this is a great way to spend a Tuesday night.

Police are working in conjunction with the Portsmouth Recreation Department to host the event, which will be held at Sandy Point Beach at 6:30 p.m. starting with pizza, chips, ice cream and other refreshments.

There will be a raffle, prizes, games for the kids and at 7:30 p.m., the Disney hit Zootopia will light up the outdoor screen—the perfect choice for a family-friendly event as Disney knows how to touch adults and children alike like nobody else.
