Want to avoid the long lines this Black Friday? Here's a look at local shops where you go to avoid Black Friday mania.

Want to avoid long lines and mobs this Black Friday? How about shopping locally? 

Instead of getting up at 4 a.m. to stand in line at Wal-Mart or Target, why not sleep in and start Small Business Saturday shopping a day early in town. 

Here's a few shops you can visit in town instead of the big box stores: 

Portsmouth Shop 

Portsmouth Shop is a locally owned women's clothing and accessory store. It sells a large variety of the most popular brand names today, such as Pandora jewelry, Vera Bradley handbags and accessories, Switch Flops and Silly Bands. It also sells many different kinds of gift items, such as candles and jewelry. 

Pink Pineapple

Stalise is a women's apparel and accessories boutique in Clock Tower Square. This store carries designer garments, outerwear, denim, jewelry and accessories. Stalise offers busy customers the opportunity to schedule a private shopping session and stylists will even consult as customers shop at his or her leisure and time. 

Shoe Port
 

Shoe Port is a retailer specializing in footwear. It carries brands such as Indigo, Clarks, Ariat, Mephisto and Jack Rodgers. Customers may shop online or at the physical store, which is open seven days a week.
