2 Providence Men Caught With 8,000 Grams Of Cocaine: RI State Police
RI State Police say they found $38,000 in cash during drug busts leading to the arrest of Derian Moreno Herrera and Aneurys Javier Santana.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Providence men were arrested Tuesday after Rhode Island State Police said they caught them with over 8,000 grams of cocaine.
State police said its High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force collaborated with Providence police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to charge Aneurys Javier Santana, 31, and Derian Moreno Herrera, 26, with possession of cocaine in excess of 1 kilogram, possession with intent to deliver a scheduled I/II controlled substance, and controlled substance conspiracy.
During the joint investigation, state police said they got warrants to search both men's homes and seized over eight kilograms of cocaine, drug distribution materials, kilogram press equipment, and more than $38,000 in cash.

State police said both men were arraigned Tuesday and were ordered held without bail.
The Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force comprises members from the state police, as well as officers from local departments in Providence, Cranston, North Providence, Lincoln, Middletown, Bristol, Johnston, the DEA Providence District Office, and the Rhode Island National Guard Counterdrug Program.
