  1. A family-owned Brazilian Steakhouse has opened in East Providence. On Wednesday, Gustavo Da Silva opened the Minas Café – Brazilian Steakhouse II on Waterman Avenue, alongside his family and Mayor Bob DaSilva. The Da Silva family have operated the Norwood Minas Café for over 18 years, but Gustavo’s father, Isaac Da Silva Neto, has spent 40 years working in culinary, between the United States and Brazil. 2. A large-scale COVID-19 vaccine clinic for residents 18 and older is opening in Providence. The clinic will be open next Thursday, Dec. 30 at the Providence Career and Technical Academy at 41 Fricker Street and will offer the Moderna vaccine, including boosters. Eligible Providence residents can register for an appointment online. (WJAR)
  3. The Trinity Repertory Company will resume its performances of “A Christmas Carol” on Wednesday after the weekend shows were canceled due to COVID precautions. The weekend cancellations occurred after a member of the cast experienced symptoms and they did not have time to have an understudy perform in their place, however, the whole cast is vaccinated and no one tested positive. Ticketholders for the affected performances on Dec. 18 and 19 were told tickets would be good for another night. (WPRI.com)
