Here are the top three stories today in Providence:
- On Wednesday, Lifespan announced they will be implementing changes to their visitation policies amidst a statewide COVID-19 spike. Some changes include limited visitation hours at Rhode Island Hospital, visitor limits for inpatients, among others. These changes will go into effect on Thursday. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
- Providence Water Supply Board is facing a federal civil rights complaint over lead contamination. The civil rights complaint was filed with the Environmental Protection Agency by a group of health and environmental justice organizations, including the Childhood Lead Action Project. The complaint claims that Providence Water's lead pipe replacement practices discriminate against Black, Latinx, and Native American people. (GoLocalProv)
- The Rent 25th Anniversary Farewell Tour is heading to PPAC from Jan. 14-16. The tour will be stopping in Providence for five performances, and is the final chance to experience the celebrated touring production.
