- With a year-end operating surplus for Fiscal Year 2021 of $3.68 million, Providence's net Rainy-Day Fund balance has increased to $28.8 million. According to a press release sent out Monday, this marks the sixth consecutive year the city has experienced a surplus under Mayor Elorza's leadership. (Press Release Desk)
- Taking exception to an invitation to one part of actress and author Karyn Parsons’ (best known for her part as Hilary Banks in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), visit to Wheeler School last week, some critics are claiming that white kids are being left out. (WJAR)
- Authorities have announced that Scott Maclean, who barricaded himself in his Providence home last week, died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. (The Wilton Bulletin)
