Here are the top three stories in Providence today:

  1. Providence police have identified the victims in this weekend's deadly shooting. The two victims were identified as Biniam Tsegai, 35, of Portland, Maine, and Merhawi Berhe, 28, of Cambridge, Mass. Berhe is recovering from surgery at Rhode Island Hospital and Tsegai died at the scene. (WPRI.com)
  2. A Providence man was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-95 in Connecticut on Sunday. According to police, 46-year-old Klever Cordova, of Guilford, CT, was driving south on the northbound side of the highway when he crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by 35-year-old Jose Dias of Providence. Both men died at the scene and the crash is now under investigation. (WJAR)
  3. The state's largest vaccination pod has been serving Rhode Islanders for over a year. Located on Taunton Avenue in Providence, “The Capitol Regional" has administered approximately 38,500 shots, including at least 3,000 pediatric vaccinations and 13,000 boosters. According to data, the highest daily volume was when shots were in their highest demand on April 3, 2021. (WPRI)
