🌱 Stolen BMW Flees Federal Hill + Farm Fresh Rhode Island Grants

Here are the top stories in Providence today:

  1. Providence police arrested four people after a stolen BMW attempted to flee a traffic stop and reportedly crashed into multiple vehicles. The stolen vehicle was spotted Saturday on Federal Hill and did not respond to police commands, taking off at high speeds and eventually crashing into two unoccupied parked cars and one occupied vehicle stuck in traffic. Four of the five suspects, all juveniles, were later apprehended. (GoLocalProv)
  2. Farm Fresh Rhode Island has recently received two grants: a $1.6 million dollar expansion to provide access to fresh local foods, as well as over $500,000 to improve the community between farmers, fishermen, and consumers. In commemoration of this, a celebration is happening this morning at the Farm Fresh Rhode Island Food Hub in Providence. U.S. Senator Jack Reed will join staff to discuss more U.S. Department of Agriculture Grants. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
  3. A Rhode Island family hosted a "Buy Nothing Friday" coat giveaway in Providence to help the less fortunate. (The Providence Journal)
