Here are the top three stories today in Providence:
- A man was punched in face and robbed of his wallet while coming out of a convenience store in downtown Providence on Thursday night. The 49-year-old victim was leaving the 7-Eleven on Weybosset Street, across from the Johnson & Wales campus, when he was approached by four unknown juveniles. The victim was bleeding from his ear and also had a cut above his eye, according to police. (GoLocalProv)
- Providence leaders are sparring over the city's vaccine mandate, as the Friday deadline strikes for city employees. 80 police offers could potentially be fired due to the mandate, however members of the City Council are fighting back. While all city staff had to submit proof of vaccination by close of business Friday, Mayor Jorge Elorza said no one would get fired on Friday afternoon. (WJAR)
- With only a few units still available, The 903 Residences condos in Providence are nearing sellout. According to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, approximately 25 units are available, out of 330 total units at the property. By the end of Aug. 2022, the condominium association is estimated to be completely owner-occupied. (GoLocalProv)
