Victim Dies: Charges Could Be Upgraded Against Providence Driver

PROVIDENCE, RI—Accident victim Andrea Bosworth, 38, has died after a month at Rhode Island Hospital, the Associated Press confirmed Friday. The Medway, Mass., mother of three was critically hurt on Oct. 22 when she was struck by a car in the breakdown lane on I-95, state police said. The accident happened around 2:20 a.m. near the Eddy Street exit. Bosworth was standing in the breakdown lane next to her car's passenger door when a Providence woman, driving South on I-95, lost control, veered into the breakdown lane, and plowed into Bosworth.
The alleged drunk driver, Yiranis Liz, 30, was arrested and charged with: Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, blood-alcohol concentration unknown, pending the results of blood test; Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, serious bodily injury resulting; and Operating to endanger, serious bodily injury resulting.
She was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test; laned roadway violations; failure to maintain reasonable and prudent speeds; and operating a motor vehicle without evidence of insurance.

Both Liz and the victim were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Liz was later arraigned on the charges and released on personal recognizance. A passenger in Bosworth's car was not hurt.

A Go Fund Me page was set up for Bosworth. The page, 'Iron Mom needs your help,' had reached $92,342 of its $200,000 goal as of Friday.
