Archambault Named To Three General Assembly Committees

Senator begins his first term this year.

 

Sen. Stephen R. Archambault (D-Dist. 22, Smithfield, Johnston, North Providence) has been named to three standing Senate committees for the 2013-2014 General Assembly session.

Senator Archambault was appointed to the Committee on Judiciary, the Committee on Government Oversight and the Committee on Environment & Agriculture.

The Committee on Judiciary considers legislation and matters which affect the penal code, judicial system, ethics, open meetings, access to public records and election laws.

The Committee on Government Oversight monitors and evaluates past, current and prospective performance of public bodies and statutory entities, including quasi-public agencies, and considers the organization, re-organization, creation or termination of those bodies.

The Committee on Environment & Agriculture considers all legislation and matters relating to the conservation of the air, land, water, plant, animal, mineral and other natural resources of the state.

The appointment was announced today by President of the Senate M. Teresa Paiva Weed.

Senator Archambault is beginning his first term as a member of the Senate.
