East Smithfield Library to Help Residents Research Family Trees, Genealogy
Participants will receive tips and guidance on how to successfully research their family history.

You've seen the commercials for websites like Ancestry.com and MyHeritage.com, but have you summoned up the courage to attempt a genealogy search of your own?
Everyone wants to know more about where they came from, but the process can become quite daunting if you're not sure where to start.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 5:30-7 p.m., the East Smithfield Public Library (50 Esmond St.) will host "Genealogy: Family History Research for Beginners" - an event that will put you on the right track to discovering more about your family tree.
Anyone is invited to join the program at which participants will learn how to search their family history using the Census, Family Search, Heritage Quest and other databases devoted to genealogy in Rhode Island and other parts of the world. In addition, guests will be shown how to find vital records and organize their family research.
