Fire Breaks Out in Smithfield Home
Nobody was hurt but an accessory apartment was severely damaged at a Rosewood Drive house early Wednesday morning.

SMITHFIELD, RI—Two families were displaced after a fire broke out in their Roswood Drive house at around midnight Wednesday.
The American Red Cross is helping six adults with housing and other basic needs after the fire, which broke out in the kitchen of an accessory apartment.
Firefighters got the fire under control shortly after arriving to the scene. Among those rescued was a disabled woman, according to WPRI.

The initial investigation indicates that the fire was accidental.
The fire caused severe damage to the accessory apartment while the primary structure suffered smoke damage, firefighters said.
