How Green Is Smithfield?

Cities and towns across the country are getting new recycling centers, giving away rain barrels and installing parking meters with solar panels. Here at Patch, we want to know: What makes Smithfield green?

Locally, there are furniture stores with eco-friendly options for people who wish to go easy on the environment, listed by RI Monthtly and the upcoming Annual Tree Day in Smithfield at Deerfield Park May 4. This year, the offering will be a Rhodendron and Miss Kim Lilac.

The Mother Nature Network recently listed their Top 10 Greenest Cities in the U.S.  Check it out and see if any of these cities match your town's initiatives.
