Police Seek ID of Smithfield Wig-Wearing Bank Robber

SMTHFIELD, RI—The Smithfield Police Department is asking the public to help them identify a man who robbed the Bank Rhode Island in the Apple Valley Mall on Monday afternoon.

Police said the man passed a note demanding cash but no weapon was shown.

He then fled on foot toward the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a thin white man in his mid 20s standing about 5-feet 5-inches tall with a very thin build, blue eyes and dark hair.

The suspect also had a scruffy beard and was wearing a red wig tied back into a pony tail, black pants, a black shirt and at least one black glove.
