Smithfield Animal Control is searching for two "German Shepherd type" dogs on the loose spotted frequently in the area of 44 Pleasant View Ave.
The Wardens posted about their search on their Facebook page, asking residents to keep an eye out for the dogs.
The last time the dogs were seen, according to the post, was recently when one of them attacked a raccoon, which could not be recovered for a rabies test. "So it is important we find the dogs and check rabies vaccinations," the post reads.
Another possible sighting occurred last Saturday at 7 a.m. when two large dogs with markings similar to that of a German Shepherd killed three cats in the Woods Plat area off Willow Road. The cats are believed to have belonged to a feral colony of felines on Sutton St.
Animal Control officers ask anyone who spots the dogs to contact Smithfield Animal Control 233-1055 -or- SPD 231-2500. "It is important for the dogs and owners health that we locate these animals," the post reads.
