Smithfield Police, Fire Respond To Motorcycle Crash

A motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and crashed in a ditch headed south on Farnum Pike today at about 1 p.m., suffering minor injuries.

Two Smithfield Police cruisers, a Smithfield Fire Department Engine and a rescue responded to the scene, where the motorcyclist, a man in his early 20s, suffered minor injuries. The motorcycle rider was transported to Fatima Hospital.

The motorcycle was towed from the ditch in the area of 219 Farnum Pike onto a flatbed truck.
