Residents throughout the country are showing their support for Boston through photos, images, comments and prayer.

 

People throughout the country are showing their support for victims after two deadly explosions occurred at the Boston Marathon finish line. The explosions killed three people and . 

As the country reacts to this bombing in Boston, residents throughout the nation are expressing their support for the victims and the city itself.

Flags are flying at half-staff. The MIT building lit up in the image of an American flag. And, the New York Yankees baseball team, long-running rivals of the Boston Red Sox, played the Fenway traditional song "Sweet Caroline" at Tuesday's home game. 

Locally, several area residents have posted tributes on Facebook walls honoring Boston. Donations to the RI Bloodmobile have increased as people strive to help the victims. Bryant University hosted a one-mile run to honor victims, and the Greenville Inn on Smith Ave. has pledged to donate 10 percent of today's profits to victims of the bombings.

Salve Regina University held a walk/run today at 12:30 p.m. to honor victims. All participants were encouraged to wear Boston gear.
