State Trooper Log: Smithfield Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Troopers arrest Smithfield man for cocaine, DUI

At 2:32 p.m. April 14, Troopers arrested Gary R. Rosa, age 51, of 82 Mapleville Road, Smithfield, RI for 1) Possession of Schedule I-V Controlled Substance (Cocaine), 2) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs-Second Offense .15 or greater (Phase I - 0.178 BAC, Phase II – 0.187 BAC), and 3) Driving while in Possession of a Controlled Substance. Subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned by Justice of the Peace, and released.

Troopers arrest Johston Man for cocaine possession, driving in possession of controlled substance

At 9 p.m. April 14, Troopers arrested John L. Young, age 22, of 280 Simmonsville Road, Johnston, RI for 1) Possession of Schedule I—V Controlled Substance (Cocaine), and 2) Driving while in Possession of a Controlled Substance. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed, held overnight pending morning arraignment.
