Economic Devleopment, Planning: Today, the Smithfield Economic Devleopment Commission meets at Town Hall, 6 p.m. On their agenda, they'll discuss, among other things, a partnership with Bryant University and a web page for the body. The Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m., same venue.

Board post openings - The town is seeking members to serve on the Sewer Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, Affordable Housing Advisory Board, and Financial Review Commission. Interested parties should submit a letter of interest to the Town Manager’s Office, 64 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917 along with an application form.  A letter of interest may contain your interest or experience in the field of each particular board or commission that you are applying for and, optionally, résumé information.
