9-1-1 Call Alerts Tiverton Police To Deadly Motorcycle Accident

Police are investigating a late-night motorcycle crash over the weekend that has claimed the life of a 48-year-old Tiverton man. 

Tiverton police say they were alerted to the crash, in the area of 1423 Fish Road, following a 9-1-1 call of a motorcycle lying in the road. 

Officials say a man riding a 2006 Harley Davidson, struck a utility pole just after midnight Saturday and was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. 

Tiverton/Little Compton Patch has learned the victim was identified as 48 year-old Paul Mello. Police say the victim was not wearing a helmet. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
