Ash Wednesday Services In Tiverton and Little Compton

Tomorrow, Feb. 13, is Ash Wednesday, a Holy Day that marks the beginning of the season of Lent in the Catholic faith.

The Holy Day is named for the practice of clergy placing ashes on the foreheads of parishioners as a sign of penance and mourning, and begins a 46-day liturgical season that concludes with Easter.

St. Christopher's Church, Tiverton:

• Mass with the distribution of ashes at 8 a.m.

St. Theresa's Church, Tiverton:

• Mass with the distribution of ashes at 7 p.m.

Church of the Holy Ghost, Tiverton:

• Mass with the distribution of ashes at 7 a.m.
• Liturgy of the word and distribution of ashes at 5 p.m.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Tiverton:

• Ecumenical service with the distribution of ashes at noon and 7:30 p.m.
• Distribution of ashes available 6:30 - 9:30 a.m.

St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Little Compton:

• Mass with the distribution of ashes at 8 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
