Explosions Reported at Boston Marathon Today, Five Tiverton-Little Compton Participants

Several local runners are racing today in the Boston Marathon where two explosions have occurred.

Five Tiverton and Little Compton residents are among the racers today at the Boston Marathon where two explosion occurred, injuring dozens and killing at least two people.

Two huge explosions blasted the finish line at the marathon at about 3 p.m. today, reports The Boston Hearald. Aerial photographs of the scene show blood stained sidewalks and debris scattered across streets by the race finish line.

The Boston Police Department confirmed two deaths and 22 injuries at 4:02 p.m. via its Twitter Account.

Three Tiverton runners, Susan E. Kent, 48; Adam S. Tebbs, 31; and Michael Yelnosky, 52 are among the runners at the Boston Marathon today.

Kent and Yelnosky finished the race, according to statistics on the Boston Marathon website. Kent finished with a total time of 4:03:47 and Yelnosky finished today with a total time of 3:29:49.

As of 3 p.m., Tebbs had not registered a finish time.

Two runners represented Little Compton in the race this year:  Joseph E. Maiato, 19 and Dan Murphy, 54. Murphy finished the race today with a total time of 3:22:32. Miato had not registered any race results as of 3 p.m. on Monday.

A third device was reportedly found in front of the Mandarin Hotel, 673 Boyleston St., Boston, MA, at about 3 p.m. according to Reuters
