Fall River Man Identified As Alleged Shooter in Saturday Drive-By
Tiverton and Fall River police department worked together and arrested the alleged shooter less than and hour after the shooting at Benjamin's Sports Pub.

Police arrested a 43-year-old Fall River man early Sunday morning after he allegedly shot-up Benjamin's Sports Pub and injured a patron inside.
Fall River Police - in a joint investigation with Tiverton - arrested Scott Campbell, 43, of Warren St., Fall River, in connection with the drive-by shooting at the Stafford Road Pub less than an hour after the incident occurred on Saturday night.
"Thanks to witnesses on scene who were able to give a description of the vehicle - which was the description of an orange dodge neon - we located the vehicle within minutes and Tiverton Police responded to the scene along with Fall River Police once we located the vehicle in a driveway on Warren Street in Fall River," said Capt. Patrick Jones, Tiverton's public information officer.

Campbell allegedly fired two shots at the bar from his orange Dodge Neon at about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday as he drove past the establishment. One shot struck the building's facade and was embedded in the wall while the other shot went straight through the bar's glass front door; shattering it and striking a 52-year-old Fall River patron in the back of the shoulder. Police responded in less than three minutes from the time of the original call.
The victim, Douglas R. St. Germain, 52, of 20 Hancock St., Fall River, MA, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Although St. Germain was still in the hospital on Tuesday, Jones said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Minutes after Campbell allegedly shot-up Benjamin's Sports Pub, Fall River tracked his car to his Warren Avenue address. Although Campbell was already inside his house, police could see spent bullet shell casings in plain view inside Campbell's car.
Police read Campbell his Miranda Rights and subsequently searched his apartment where they found a .380 caliber pistol inside a kitchen cabinet.
Fall River Police took custody of Campbell on multiple felony charges and he will be arraigned on April 15.
Tiverton is charging Campbell with four felony charges: felony assault, firing a firearm from a vehicle, use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and carrying a firearm without a permit.
After Campbell is arraigned on his Massachusetts charges, Tiverton will seek extradition. If Campbell refuses to waive his rights to extradition, the case will be referred to the state Attorney General's office.
"We won't comment as to motive at this time because the matter is under investigation," said Jones. "Fortunately no one else was hit at the time."
Jones commended the partnership of the Tiverton and Fall River Police departments in tracking and arresting Campbell.
"With the assistance of witnesses on scene and the exceptional of work of the Tiverton and Fall River police, we were be able to take this dangerous individual into custody within minutes of the incident," said Jones.
Tiverton Police are conducting an active investigation into Saturday night's drive-by shooting at Benjamin's Sports Pub on Stafford Road and ask any individuals with information to contact investigating officers Det. Brendan McKinnon and Jason Dunlea of the Tiverton Police Department at 401-625-6722.
