Great Places Workshop Scheduled For Tuesday

The Rhode Island Division of Planning will hold a Rhode Map Great Places Workshop in October at Sandywoods in Tiverton.

The workshop will take place on Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at Sandywoods.

This is one of five workshops, which will gather input from the public, as well as municipal officials and staff, on existing and potential future growth centers.

Participants in the meetings will have an opportunity to discuss and review maps showing green assets, such as water and agriculture, and economic and social assets such as roads, job centers, and cultural sites.

Additional workshops in November and January will start discussions on the implications of this mapping: where and how should we grow? What can the state do to reform regulations or provide incentives to support growth centers?

If you can't attend a workshop, all maps are viewable and interactive online. For more information, visit http://rhodemapri.org and click on View Maps.
