Little Compton Town Council To Hold Budget Workshop Today

The Little Compton Town Council will hold a budget workshop at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m.

Council President Robert Mushen reccommended the council table any discussion on the fiscal year 2013-14 budget until today because several line items were still unknown at the the Thursday night council meeting.

"I think that we should not consider approval, but schedule a workshop," said Mushen on Feb. 21. "The reason I say that is because of a number of things I would like you to consider. I am not ready to reccommend this budget because I need numbers to come in."

Mushen wanted to reevaluate the funding awarded to the council's advisory boards, as several committees don't utilize the money. Health care and town insurance costs were not pinned down, and Mushen wanted to assess the town's annual charitable contributions.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 26 in Town Council Chambers, 40 Commons, Little Compton.
