Police Arrest Two For Allegedly Tampering With Vehicles

Tiverton police made the following arrests recently.

  • Edward Abrantes, 30, of 40 Fairfield Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on Oct. 25 at his home. Abrantes was charged with domestic, disorderly conduct, after an incident at the home.
  • Matthew Shartenberg, 29, of Newport, was arrested on Oct. 26 at 10:22 p.m. on Main Road. Shartenberg was charged with violating a no-contact order.
  • Two people were arrested on Oct. 27 after an incident just after 9 p.m. at Tiverton Liquors, 65 Main Road. Police arrested Luis A. Gonzalez, 32, of Wareham, MA. Gonzalez was charged with larceny under $1,500 for allegedly tampering with motor vehicle parts. He was also charged with conspiracy and tampering with a vehicle. The second suspect arrested at Tiverton Liquors was Catherine Holmes, 30, of Fall River, MA. She was charged with larceny under $1,500 for allegedly stealing motor vehicle parts. She was also charged with conspiracy, tampering with a vehicle and operating a vehicle with an expired license.
