Three-Day 'Celebrate Tiverton' Festival To Be Unveiled Tonight

Tiverton First is sponsoring a three-day community-wide festival in July, pending approval by the Town Council at tonight's meeting.

 

Tiverton First will unveil its plans for a three-day festival to celebrate Tiverton's culture and community at Monday night's Town Council meeting.

Coordinator Linda Larsen will present the itinerary for the Celebrate Tiverton Festival and ask for approvals from the council for an entertainment permit for Music at the gazebo on Middle Avenue, approval for a 'Celebrate Tiverton' parade, a permit for a 5K race and permission for a bonfire and kayak cruise on Grinnell's Beach.

From Friday through Sunday, the festivities would span from north Tiverton to the waterfront, from Sandywoods to south Tiverton, all kicking off with a party on Middle Avenue. Some of the events include a flotilla of lights, a beach bonfire, a parade, a summer harvest dinner, a family-friendly outdoor dance party and a concert in the Middle Avenue gazebo.

Tiverton First states its goal is to honor all parts of Tiverton, bring the community together, and draw visitors into the area to help celebrate Tiverton.

The Tiverton Town Council will meet a 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 343 Highland Road.
