Tiverton Council to Consider 62-Acre Development Proposal Tonight
Town officials will take a first look at what could be in store for north Tiverton under a 62-acre development proposal.
Developers have fingered 62 acres in north Tiverton as the future site of sprawling commercial corridor of hotels, offices, restaurants and retail shops.
On Monday night town officials will take an initial look at what such large scale development would mean for the area. The Town Council will hold a joint meeting with the Planning Board on Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

Situated just off of Route 24 and bordered by Fish, Main and Souza roads, the 18-building project would be known as 'Tiverton Crossings.' Consisting mainly of three and four-story buildings, the project would develop hundreds of thousands of square feet dedicated to commercial ventures.
The most notable buildings include a 100-room 62,000 square-foot hotel 475-seat restaurant that would abut Main Road.

In total, developers are looking to construct more than 385,000 square feet of retail space and more than 150,000 square feet of office space in addition to restaurants and residential units.
Johnston-based Carpionato Group, LLC, filed the concept plan with the town on March 5.
Monday's meeting is an informal pre-application review designed to give officials, residents and developers an idea of what to expect after design plans are submitted for a formal master plan review by the planning board.
