Tiverton Leaders March In Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Several members of Tiverton's Town Council and police force marched in Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Newport.

There were some familiar faces hidden amongst the the swarm of green, shamrocks and Irish flags at Newport's St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday.

Two of Tiverton's Town Council members were spotted near the front of the parade. Decked out in festive green ties, President Ed Roderick and Councilor Brett Pelletier were grinning from ear to ear as they marched along the two-mile, two-hour parade route.

Two members of Tiverton's finest, Lt. Scott Beaulieu and Det. Brendan McKinnon joined in the Irish festivities to represent Tiverton as well.

The 57th annual St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Newport included seven pipe bands, nine marching bands, four fife & drum corps, three clown units, eight reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social and fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, schools, and non-profits.
