Tiverton Library Closes Due to Septic System Failure

Tiverton's Essex Library is closed due to a septic system failure, according to Fire Chief Robert Lloyd and a message on the library's website. 

Lloyd confirmed the closure on Thursday. A message on the library's website reads, "The library is closed until further notice due to a septic system failure. We apologize for any inconvenience." 

It is unknown how long the library will be closed. 

According to the library's Facebook page, it appears the library closed Wednesday, but the children's room was closed earlier in the week. 

"The Essex Library is temporarily closed while we make necessary repairs to our public restroom," the library posted on its Facebook page Thursday. 

The Essex Library is located at 238 Highland Road in Tiverton. The town's Union Library, located at 3832 Main Road, is regularly closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
