Tiverton Police Department: Parking Ban

Press release from the Tiverton Police Department:

January 6, 2022

A parking ban will take effect tonight (01/06/2022) beginning at 10:00 PM due to the predicted snowstorm. The parking ban will remain in effect until further notice.

Update: All trash pick-up will be delayed by one day.

Please see the following Tiverton Town Ordinance regarding parking and snow removal:

Sec. 78-68. – Parking so as to interfere with snow removal.

No person shall park any vehicle on any street or highway so that it will interfere with or prevent the clearing of such street or highway from ice or snow by the highway department. Parking is specifically forbidden on that side of the street on which hydrants are located. On streets on which no hydrants are located, parking is specifically forbidden on the north side of east-west streets and on the east side of north-south streets when the chief of police shall issue a no parking snow warning over local radio and television.
