Tiverton Teen Allegedly Commits Breaking and Entering

Tiverton Police arrested an 18-year-old Tiverton man last week.

 

Tiverton Police charged an 18-year-old Tiverton man last week with breaking and entering, a felony.

Christopher Destremps, 18, of 132 Kearns Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on Feb. 26 at 12:23 p.m. and charged with felony burglary following an investigation of a break-in on Randolph Avenue by Tiverton police officers.

After receiving a complaint of a break-in by a Randolph Avenue homeowner on Feb. 12, Officers Liam Black and Matthew Braun investigated the scene and found a set of footprints in the snow in the backyard of the home. The officers followed the footprints, photographed them and were able to determine an approximate shoe size. After a subsequent investigation, police identified Destremps as a suspect and he allegedly admitted to police that he was responsible for the burglary.

Destremps allegedly stole costume jewelry valued at about $100 as well as several gift certificates from the home.

Destremps was arraigned in Second Division District Court on Feb. 26.
