At the council's special meeting on Monday, Feb. 18 Goncalo said it would be important for the council to look at all of the town's capital needs, prioritize and create a long-term funding plan to keep town equipment and infrastructure healthy.
In other business, Councilor William P. Gerlach requested that the council advertise to fill the vacant town planner position.

"It is clear that with all the zoning and planning-related activity on the horizon over the next few years, having a planner to help guide the town through the process would be advantageous," said Gerlach.
The decision to hire the position - which costs about $70,000 per year - is up for discussion tonight.
Tonight's Tiverton Town Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 343 Highland Road, Tiverton.
