Warwick Rollover Crash Yields DUI Arrest For Pawtucket Man
A man who rolled his vehicle while trying to make a turn failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said.
WARWICK, RI β A Pawtucket man escaped serious injury but was charged with drunken driving following a single vehicle rollover crash in Warwick early Wednesday.
The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. The driver was traveling north on Bald Hill Road and attempting to turn onto Rt. 113 when it crashed and landed on its roof, WPRI-TV first reported.
Major Michael Gilbert of the Warwick Police Department provided an update today. He said the operator was arrested at the scene after showing signs of impairment and failing a series of field sobriety tests. The driver suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Gustavo Piedrahita, 35, of Greene Street in Pawtucket was charged with DUI, Gilbert said. Piedrahita was released to a sober adult with a summons to appear in Third District Court on March 9 for a 9 a.m. arraignment.
No word on what caused the crash.
